How to create a bike park with Velopark products
Step 1
Designing the park
The features to include and the design of the park primarily depend on the target audience you want to attract. Practical considerations, such as available space and budget, naturally also play a significant role in shaping the park's design.
Example parks
A great starting point when designing your skills park is to explore one of our ready-made example parks. These examples provide a clear idea of how to approach the design process. We’ve created parks tailored for public spaces like parks or schools, cycling destinations, and bike clubs looking for excellent training facilities. Contact us for customized suggestions designed to meet your needs.
Free proposal
Once you’ve outlined a general vision for your park, it’s time to connect with us for a free proposal. To get started, simply share details about your target audience, the approximate size of the available space, and your estimated budget. Using this information, we’ll create tailored design suggestions, including a basic sketch that aligns with your needs and goals.
Feasibility study
For a more detailed and comprehensive proposal, we recommend starting with a feasibility study from Velopark. As part of this process, we visit your site, assess all conditions, take precise measurements, and document the area with photographs. Using this thorough evaluation, we create a detailed proposal that includes 3D visualizations of the park. This professionally prepared material is an excellent resource for presenting the project to stakeholders, particularly when seeking funding. Contact us today for a tailored quote.
Step 2
Order, delivery and preparations
Once your order is placed and the modules are being produced, it’s the perfect time to begin preparatory groundwork.
Order and delivery
Our features are delivered as separate modules that are assembled using the provided instructions. While the modules can be unloaded and lifted manually by a few people, using a wheel loader or forklift makes the process significantly easier. Assembly is much simpler if the modules are put together into complete features before attaching the wooden deck. For this reason, our modules are delivered with steel frames and wooden beams separated as standard. Attaching the wooden deck is then a straightforward step using the included screws. If you require assembly assistance, we can provide a separate quote for this service.
Preparatory groundwork
When placing your order, we provide a detailed specification outlining the preparatory groundwork required before delivery. Typically, this involves ensuring the designated area is leveled and covered with a suitable surface layer. If you need assistance with this work, we can provide a separate quote.
Step 3
Installation and assembly
All modules have been delivered, and hopefully, the groundwork is complete as well. Now comes the fun part—assembling, test riding, and officially opening the park!
Assembly of modules
Most of Velopark’s features consist of two or more modules that are assembled into a complete obstacle. All screws and fittings required for assembly are included with your order, along with clear instructions. Once all features are assembled and positioned according to the provided layout sketch, the wooden deck is secured in place.
Ground anchoring
Our fully assembled features are heavy and stable enough to be used without ground anchoring in their standard design. However, we always recommend anchoring the features to prevent them from being moved. There are several methods available for securing our modules to the ground.
Assembly service
We offer complete assembly and installation services. Our team ensures that all features are properly assembled, positioned, and secured according to best practices, leaving your park looking great and ready for use.
